This Throwback Joanna Gaines Look Has Convinced Me That Green and White is the Vintage Tableware Trend to Love Right Now

Here at Homes & Gardens, we're always on the hunt for the next big design trend – but sometimes, it pays to look backwards. Nostalgia is dominating the world of interiors this year, and designers like Joanna Gaines have demonstrated that vintage-style decor is taking center stage. In fact, I recently spotted Joanna decorating with vintage blue and white tableware – and it's now green and white tableware that I've got my eye on thanks to Joanna's beloved homeware brand, Magnolia.

My inspiration came from a Magnolia post shared a long time ago, but it feels strikingly on-trend for 2025, proving that Joanna Gaines is always a step ahead. Showcasing a hearty fall menu served on vintage-inspired green and white dishes, the shot taps into this year's country grandmother-inspired tableware craze, showing that the heirloom look simply doesn't date.

The post reminds me that the best designers pull from the archives, using time-honored trends to inform contemporary choices. Decorating with vintage is as popular as ever in 2025, but fortunately, you don't need to spend hours at the flea market to build the look. Some of my favorite brands have dropped incredible vintage-style collections this year, and in fact, Magnolia's 2025 holiday decor collection is a fantastic example. From polished brass accents to heritage prints, Joanna Gaines knows exactly how to nail retro style – which is why the green and white tableware look still feels so fresh to me.

So, while vintage blue and white pieces also be one of Joanna's favorite palettes, I've got a real soft spot for the forest green combination – and it's totally timeless. I'll be channelling Magnolia and adding a few choice pieces to my hosting closet for upcoming dinner parties.
