Wearers of a certain cult perfume just got called out in Amazon Prime's Red White and Royal Blue, in a very good way.
Yep, as if cult-fave scent Santal 33—which is already widely regarded as one of the best perfumes—needed any more positive press besides being Niall Horan's cologne go-to, it just had a cameo in the movie adaption of Casey McQuiston's best-selling novel.
In fact, said cameo came during a rather iconic scene indeed and has no doubt made the temptation to shop it all the more, well tempting...
The 'Red, White and Royal Blue' Santal 33 scene
In the event that you missed the 'quiet luxury' perfume's big movie debut, allow us to take you back to that hospital cupboard scene.
At around minute 15, Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) and Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), who is the President of the United States' son, are pushed into a supplies closet by their security after what sounds like gunfire, whilst visiting a hospital. At this point, the pair are in their 'enemy' phase, after a certain cake fiasco—if you haven't seen it, we won't spoil it any further.
Once shoved into the teeny room, the pair topple on top of each other and in their desperate scramble to detangle themselves from one another, Henry quips: "Santal 33? Makes sense."
"What do you mean by that?" Alex demands, to which Henry says: "It means you've got good taste, Alex." Now coming from a prince (albeit a fictional one), that's a big win for our Le Labo stans out there.
This also ends up being a decisive moment in the film for their relationship, as they open up about why they got off on the wrong foot and start to see each other in a new light...
