The streets are full of little stories, but most disappear before we even notice them. A perfectly timed coincidence or a funny interaction happening in just the right place can turn an ordinary moment into something worth remembering.
Istanbul-based photographer Deniz Sabuncu finds inspiration simply by walking around and paying attention to the things most people might walk right past. His photos capture all kinds of unexpected encounters. Some images are funny, while others are sweet, strange, or simply artistic, with great composition, lighting, and vivid colors. What they all have in common is Sabuncu’s eye for timing.
Together, they offer a playful look at Istanbul and the people, animals, and everyday details that make the city so interesting.
