PETA have released a new ad to try and make the nation think twice about what they put on their table for Christmas dinner this year. The animal rights group's first ever Christmas advert features the story of a cute baby turkey named Toby who is thrown out of the back of a truck headed to the slaughterhouse by his mother.

Toby ends up in the home of a loving human family and the video shows you the heart-warming moments he shares with the children as they grow older together. The video finally ends on Christmas day where the family tuck in to a vegan Christmas dinner where they are joined by Toby.
The ad which premiered on Good Morning Britain will be shown in Manchester cinemas throughout the festive season. PETA vice president of programmes Elisa Allen said: "Turkeys like Toby are gentle, gracious, and gregarious individuals, and each one has a story that should not end on a fork.
"PETA urges Manchester locals to share comfort and joy this Christmas by enjoying a delicious vegan feast. We stand ready to help with our free vegan starter kit.”
