This Morning viewers 'switch off' as ITV show broadcasts live from Buckingham Palace

This Morning viewers threatened to "switch off" as the ITV show broadcasted live from Buckingham Palace today.

In a show first, the first part of the programme came live from the palace in London, as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby led a show to help celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.

As the show began, a very grand version of the This Morning theme tune played as the duo made their way to the grand entrance door of Buckingham Palace in a luxury vehicle.

Stepping out of the car, Phil was in a suit whilst Holly opted for a glittering and glamorous gold dress.

However, whilst the pair seemed thrilled to be there, viewers were not so keen by the new broadcast location.

"That's me turning off, didn't think it could get any worse ... i was very very wrong #ThisMorning," one wrote, as a second penned: "Eurgh no, this is going to be unbearable today isn't it #ThisMorning."

A third wrote: "Time to switch off! #ThisMorning," with a fourth sharing on Twitter : "God, you know today's going to be hard work when they're promo'ing walking up a flight of stairs later as a segment #ThisMorning."

Another questioned: "Why are they even there if the queen is probably at Windsor? #ThisMorning."

Others liked the new location, as they heaped praise on the duo and the Queen.

"Oh my god I’m loving #ThisMorning today, bloody love our amazing Queen," one wrote, as a second added: "Why can't I look round the Palace, what a lovely place, Hollies dress is super this #ThisMorning stunning as ever @hollywills."

The duo announced the news they'd be broadcasting from Buckingham Palace during yesterday's show.

Two members of the London Fanfare Trumpets began playing as Gyles Brandreth read out an invitation from the palace, sharing: "Dear Mr Schofield and Ms Willoughby, you have been given a royal appointment for tomorrow, as we will be broadcasting live from Buckingham Palace to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.

"You will be taking a look back at the Queen’s magnificent 70 years of sovereign, with a host of special guests. We look forward to welcoming you live from 10 o’clock tomorrow morning as the celebrations begin at Buckingham Palace."

Holly admitted: "I’m so excited. That almost made me cry! Downton Abbey and now Buckingham Palace - we do get the keys to all the best houses in Britain, don’t we?" as Phil replied: "We really do! But this is the best one!"
