This Morning viewers were left 'feeling sorry' for Vanessa Feltz as she awkwardly sat through a heated debate about Prince Harry. The broadcaster joined Camilla Tominey and Matthew Wright on the ITV daytime show's sofa - and found herself stuck between them as they argued over the Duke of Sussex.
The three guests had joined hosts Josie Gibson and Dermot O'Leary to chat about the latest news stories for the This Morning's View segment on Thursday (January 5). The segment was heavily dominated by Harry's claims about the Royal Family in his new memoir, Spare.
In a leaked extract from the book, he alleges he was physically attacked by his brother Prince William during an argument over Harry's wife Meghan Markle, the Guardian reported this week. Interviews with ITV and CBS News are set to be aired before the release of his tell-all book on January 10, which is hot on the heels of Harry and Meghan's controversial and revealing Netflix series.

While the hosts and guests discussed the latest shocking claims on This Morning, Vanessa soon found herself in an awkward position. As Camilla and Matthew faced each other arguing, with the latter leaning in and gesticulating expressively at times, Vanessa sat mostly in silence between them.
Camilla said the Royal Family had maintained a "dignified silence" about Harry's claims, as Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace both refuse to comment because "it's a private matter", reported the MEN.
She said: "The Royal Family's reasonableness in all this makes it seem even more unreasonable as the days go on, so this policy probably is the right one..." before Matthew cut her off. He said: "I just find the idea that you think the palace aren't briefing against them as just naïve in the extreme!" he said.
Matthew continued: "I think there's relentless briefing going on! Whether it's done directly or by the Daily Mail..." Camilla then interjected: "But Matt, Matt, Matt!" He hit back: "Just let me have a moment" but Camilla continued: "Do you not think people can make their own minds up?"
The pair went back and forth, often talking over each other. Vanessa also made some brief points and shared her thoughts on the matter and the views of the other guests, but it didn't escape the attention of viewers on Twitter that she was caught in the middle.
Sarah (@JoviGirl_1980) tweeted: "Actually feel quite sorry for Vanessa sat there in the middle with these two arguing over her #awkward #ThisMorning." Marjorie (@MadameMinge) commented: "I feel oddly sorry for Vanessa today, she’s like the helpless Nan in between the fighting grandkids on that sofa… #ThisMorning."
Another user, The Tipsy Puffin (@thetipsypuffin), wrote: "Vanessa stuck in the middle of these two like: #ThisMorning," adding a clip from the show. Traylor Holmes (@TraylorHolmes) tweeted: "I bet Vanessa’s thinking thank god that’s over #ThisMorning".
Chantal (@ChantalMascoe) added: #ThisMorning Poor Vanessa stuck In the middle." TV fan (@TellyVsPodcasts) posted: "Why is Matthew Wright leering forward across poor Vanessa, shouting over her, interrupting any view she tries to voice and physically stretching across her personal space #ThisMorning."
