This Morning viewers say 'poor Holly' after Gino D'Acampo leaves her and Dermot O'Leary squirming with 'news' quizzing live on air

This Morning viewers were quick to comment as Gino D'Acampo appeared to push his latest appearance right to the edge by quizzing a squirming Holly Willoughby live on air. Holly had earlier shared her excitement at having the Italian chef back on the programme after months away.

And the mischievous TV star wasted no time in making things a little bit awkward in the ITV studio on Tuesday (June 19) as he appeared on the ITV daytime show to show viewers how to make his orange and pistachio tiramisu before returning later with some Italian cocktails.

But it was during his first stint in the kitchen during the latest show that got people talking as the former I'm A Celebrity star and Family Fortunes host revealed his planned dish was changed at the last minute.

"I was going to make melanzane alla parmigiana, with the aubergine. But apparently, I can't do anything with aubergine at the moment so I'm going to make a tiramisu."

But he had already left Holly, 42, and her co-host Dermot O'Leary, 50, flustered when he asked whether he had missed "any news" over the past month during his time away. Introducing the celebrity chef, Dermot said: "It's been a while but Gino is finally allowed back in the This Morning kitchen."

Gino replied: "I was in Italy for a month and I can't wait to cook for all of you." He continued: "Everything is under control, I'm back. Any news? Anything in the last month that I should know of?" seemingly referring to the fact that This Morning has been hitting the headlines following Phillip Schofield's exit from the show and from ITV.

Dermot sat with a pen in his mouth looking slightly uncomfortable while Holly laughed while sat beside him on the famous sofa. "No news," Holly said smiling, as Gino replied: "No news, OK, good. so we can go straight into the cooking..."

But he then paused to ask: "Why is nobody talking anymore, what's happened?" as Dermot joked: "We need to rephrase, Gino is back for a one-time only..."
