This Morning viewers fume as show pulled off air for ITV News special

This Morning was pulled off-air on Thursday morning to make way for an ITV News special.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced that the programme was coming to an end at 11:15am instead of its usual time of 12:30pm.

Viewers are less than impressed that their favourite mid-morning show has been axed early for the Chancellor's Autumn Budget statement. Phil told fans: "We are finishing the show early today to cross live to Julie Etchingham in the ITV newsroom as they bring you coverage of that Autumn Budget."

However, Loose Women will air as normal, and they'll be joined by Ben Shephard and Stephanie Beacham.

But fans watching at home are not happy about This Morning's early exit from the airwaves, and have taken to social media to express their anger, with one person saying: "Hands up if you’d rather have another hour or so of #ThisMorning than news coverage of the Chancellor’s statement.."

Another tweeted: "Should of put this depressing s******* on the bbc #thismorning "

A third wrote: "Yesterday Loose Women were talking about how the news makes them feel depressed. Well this Autumn budget is making me depressed. #ThisMorning "

Someone else said: "Thought something bad had happened when they cut to the news #ThisMorning "

A fifth added: "So they've binned #ThisMorning for the #AutumnBudget why not keep news on news channels, there's enough of them."
