This Morning descended into chaos today as Phillip Schofield was left rolling his eyes as Holly Willoughby was forced to apologise for her repeated King Charles gaffes.
The co-hosts were joined in the studio by journalists Camilla Tominey and Graeme Brown as they discussed the plans for the coronation of King Charles this May.
They discussed reports King Charles III could become the first monarch in British history to be publicly anointed at his coronation in another break from tradition.
In previous coronations, the moment where the Archbishop of Canterbury uses holy oil to anoint the hands, breasts and head of the sovereign is not seen in public.
During the 1953 coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, a gold cloth canopy was held over her head during that part of the ceremony, but there are now reports King Charles III may give the public a glimpse for the very first time.
On This Morning Holly asked Camilla why the public have not been allowed to see this part of the coronation and the Royal correspondent explained it was the ‘most sacred part’ of the ceremony.
She then said it is understood that the Royal School of Needlework has started work on making the new canopy.
Holly then asked why they didn't just do away with the canopy, except she mispronounced the word as ‘canapé’ – which both then continued to do through the conversation.
Suddenly, Phil interrupted with an outburst saying: “Canapé?! First of all, let's just say it’s a canopy!”
Camilla replied: “Sorry, why are we calling it a canapé?” as Holly burst into fits of laughter at the blunder and Phil said: “Both of you! I let it go three times!”
A smiling Holly teased: “I would prefer canapés,” before Camilla said: “I blame you for that Willoughby,” and Holly apologised for the mix-up.
This Morning turned similarly jovial on Monday as the co-hosts spoke with YouTube sensation KSI and Holly took the opportunity to ask the guest for help in sourcing his Prime drinks.
Holly and Phillip teased the boxer over the price of the energy drinks earlier this morning, amid limited availability since the brand launched in the UK last year.
There has been high demand for the drinks recently, which have been launched by social media personalities KSI, whose real name is JJ Olatunji, and Logan Paul.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
