This Morning's Josie Gibson stops ITV show for 'urgent' Martin Lewis update

Josie Gibson called a brief halt to This Morning on Tuesday, to give an 'urgent' clarification on some information given by Martin Lewis minutes earlier.

A regular on the ITV daytime show, money saving expert Martin was back to join Josie and co-star Holly Willoughby to give information about some opportunities to save money and to help solve viewers' issues.

One of the subjects raised during Martin's This Morning appearance was carers' credit; a sum of money you can receive if you’re caring for someone for at least 20 hours a week.

Martin spoke about the eligibility for the credit and the amount people could expect to receive. However, after coming off air he clearly realised he'd made a slight error as, after an ad break just after an hour into the live broadcast, Josie paused proceedings to reveal to viewers that Martin had been back in touch.

She explained: "Now earlier, we had Martin Lewis on the show and he just wanted to clarify something he said about Carer's Credit."

Taking over Holly told people watching at home: "This is the message he sent to us, so I'm just going to read it. He said 'Just to clarify, Carer's Credit is, as I said, worth £4,000 a year, but then I mistaknely said that that was £140 a week, instead of saying that maximum you can arn to gegt it.

'So I'm very very sorry, sadly it's only worth £76 a week.'

She added: "His big message is that there are up to 500,000 carers who are eligible and are still missing out, so go and have a look online."
