Josie Gibson has come a long way since her first television moment on Big Brother 12 years ago. The Bristol-born star, who is now a regular host on ITV's This Morning, has said she's "proud" to represent the city and indeed the entire region.
In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, the 37-year-old joked that she didn't realise how strong her accent was until she went to London. "I’m so proud to represent not only Bristol, but the south west. Loads of people say, ‘Oh well done for raising the Bristol flag!’ People are so supportive, aren’t they?" she said.
She added: “It’s weird because when I was [living] in London, I honed into anyone from the south west – it’s like a little weird connection that we’ve all got."

The presenter had previously discussed moving back to her home from London in an interview with OK! Magazine. When OK! Magazine asked Josie 'what do you love about home?' she said: "In Bristol, it’s the people. Living in London, I knocked on my neighbour’s door for a chat and they complained about me. The landlord said I was a weirdo! I moved back to Bristol and knew everyone on my street within 48 hours."
Josie, from Yate, found fame in 2010 on Channel 4's Big Brother and was crowned the series' winner that year. She opened up in the interview about how she had to put herself out there in the years after the show because "nobody wanted to know", and said she contacted 72 people for on screen work.
In the interview with Huffington Post, the star went on to describe how ITV presenter Eamon Holmes encouraged her to put herself forward for more work on This Morning after a brief appearance on the show. She joined the ITV team in 2018 and made her first appearance as a presenter last year filling in for Holly Willoughby last minute.
This appearance proved popular with the viewers and was later confirmed to present the series for Holiday cover going forward. In August, This Morning viewers demanded a major presenter shake up after Bristol's Josie Gibson appeared as a presenter.
