This Morning's Josie Gibson gets 'heebie-jeebies' as she goes ghosthunting in South West

Josie Gibson was left with the 'heebie-jeebies' after visiting one of the most haunted buildings in the world, which is situated right here in the South West. The bubbly Bristolian TV presenter appeared in a segment broadcast on Friday's (October 28) This Morning, which saw her take on the demonic spirits which roam The Ancient Ram Inn in Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire.

A comedy skit saw Josie drive her Range Rover through the market town, before breaking down whilst on the phone to best pal and fellow This Morning star, Alison Hammond. Unfortunately for Josie, 37, her car picked the most inconvenient spot to break down, as she was forced to spend the night at the heavily haunted former pub.

Caroline Humphries, who owns The Ancient Ram Inn, greeted Josie as she walked through the door, and shared some of the property's history with the former Big Brother winner. Josie was taken to the Witch's Room, as opposed to the Bishop's Room, which is on the other end of the property and is believed to be possessed by a demon.

Upon lying on the bed, Josie said she felt as though she had just jumped into a swimming pool and all the water had gone up her nose, as if she was drowning. Caroline then took the star to a section of floor in another part of the property which her father had dug up, thinking that there was a cellar beneath it, only to find human remains.

As Caroline showed Josie around the old barn, she told her that this section is haunted by 'Edward the Monk', a "big apparition" that lingers around the ceiling. Josie appeared spooked, telling Caroline and viewers watching along at home: "And for those who don't believe, I'm here now, y'know. I've met you, and you're not a weirdo. You're normal!"

Laughing, Caroline replied: "Well, thank you very much! I am quite normal, but what I talk about isn't normal - there's an energy here that exists and it's a matter of fact to me."

Donning a full Ghostbusters uniform, Josie then invited paranormal investigator Jolene Lockwood, a psychic medium who picks up on energy from those who have passed away and buildings, to join her at The Ancient Ram Inn. Jolene used a frequency device to communicate with the spirits in the building, and informed Josie that they were intimidated by the lighting used by the This Morning production team for filming.

The pair then headed to the Bishop's Room, with their journey to the room leaving Josie spooked after hearing a music box, which only plays when triggered by movement, play in a different part of the property. Jolene then told Josie that a gentleman had joined them in the room.

"Where is he? Where is he?" Josie screamed. "Are you kidding me? I don't wanna go in there."

After a long night of ghosthunting, Josie got into bed. She told viewers: "The unexplained noises and the feeling of being watched is undoubtedly creepy. But at there's no scientific evidence that ghosts exist, I pluck up the courage to stay the night. Being here today is the stuff of nightmares - I think the only way I'm going to get to sleep tonight is with the light on."

The Ancient Ram Inn is the oldest building in Wotton-under-Edge, and often hosts camera crews from around the world, in addition to ghost hunts and sleepovers which are definitely not for the fainthearted. It is believed that a 16th Century witch who was burnt at the stake for not believing or practising Christianity haunts the twisted corridors of the famous haunted haunt.

It is thought that the witch hid in one of the rooms at The Ancient Ram Inn before she was caught and put to death. Today, this room is known as The Witch's Room - which is where Josie stayed.
