Alison Hammond handled things like a pro as she suffered a rather awkward auto cue blunder live on Wednesday's This Morning.
Following the show's latest National Television Award win for Best Daytime last week, the ITV show's main presenting duo, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are taking a break from hosting, giving Alison and her Friday partner in crime Dermot O'Leary the chance to take over for a week.
The move has delighted many fans, after many of them believed that Alison should have won her own NTA for Best Presenter, with the award instead going to Ant and Dec for a 21st year in a row. Wednesday's show saw Alison and Dermot joined by guest Joe Tracini, with the ex Hollyoaks star leaving viewers in flood of tears with his comments about is struggle with Borderline Personality Disorder and a performance of his original song Grow.

The hosts and those watching at home were also treated to a performance from the cast of hit theatre production Choir of Man. After This Morning returned from an ad break, Dermot teased what was still to come, before it fell on Alison's shoulders to introduce the guest performance.
Unfortunately for Alison she struggled to read the autocue, but, rather than trying to hide her mishap, Alison admitted: "I'm going to be honest, I can't see the autocue," as Dermot, trying to spare her blushes, interjected: "It's quite far away," as her walked her closer to the autocue.
Ahead of last week's National Television Awards, Alison said she was hit by 'imposter syndrome' about being on the Best Presenter shortlist. "I think I've just got that imposter syndrome. It's just so weird. I'm seeing it from the outside and I'm like 'is this really real?
"I've been to that awards ceremony so many times and I'm alright sitting in the background and letting other people take the limelight."
She added: ""It feels so weird: Graham Norton, Bradley Walsh, our Geordie duo, who are just incredible and I'm sitting there. It's just so weird."
