This Morning's Alison Hammond shares selfie with 'down to earth' Prince and Princess of Wales

This Morning's Alison Hammond has taken to social media after posing for a selfie with the Prince and Princess of Wales. The newly confirmed host of The Great British Bake Off said she was "buzzing" as she posted the picture on her social media accounts.

The 48-year-old met the royal couple during their visit to Birmingham on Thursday, April 20. Kate Middleton and Prince William's engagement in the city was so they could meet future leaders in the creative industries and celebrate the area's diverse culture and heritage.

Kate and William visited the Jewellery Quarter, where they were joined by Alison at the 180 Club, as well as visiting the restaurant Indian Streatery and meeting crowds outside The Rectory.

While at the city bar the pair took part in a game of interactive darts with the This Morning presenter who jokingly heckled the future king, telling him: "Are you going to relax your arm?" before he took his shot.

Later the trio were all smiles as Alison shared a selfie they had taken together. The presenter called Kate and William "down to earth" and said she was buzzing from the event.

The official Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram account responded to the image, writing: "Always fun Alison, it’s always fun!" For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
