This Morning's Alison Hammond 'devastated' in emotional message as she says goodbye to 'special' colleague

Alison Hammond got all emotional on social media as she shared a goodbye message to a 'special' This Morning colleague. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Friday (May 19) alongside Dermot O'Leary.

The pair have taken over as usual from Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby after all eyes were on their fellow hosting duo this week. But before her appearance on screen, Alison took to social media to issue a sweet tribute to the show's digital producer, Ella Bates, after she confirmed her exit.

Alison reshared a post from Ella which featured a snap of the two together on the famous sofa on the day This Morning broadcast from Coronation Street to mark King Charles III's Coronation.

She said: "I'm absolutely devastated that Ella Bates is leaving, she has been a breath of fresh air every single day." It comes after This Morning co-star Josie Gibson also shared an emotional tribute to their departing colleague.

Again sharing a picture taken from the Corrie cobbles, Josie and Ella could be seen beaming as they sta on the sofa outside the Rovers Return with Alison and Dermot posing for snaps in the background. "The day we all got caught in the rain at @coronationstreet while filming @thismorning and then the sunshine came out...." Josie started the caption of her post.

"When I say sunshine I mean @ella.bates beautiful face... Ella I am so so sad to see you leave us. You lighten up any room with your magical energy. You are Golden my friend and your going places with that special energy of yours. I know your going to live out your dreams but we are going to miss you so very much."

After posting a string of crying face emojis, Josie added: "Good luck," before other members of the This Morning family shared their sadness. While Clodagh McKenna simply posted two red love hearts, Juliet Sear said: "Oh I’ll really miss Ella. She’s wonderful, all the best down under!!"
