Welsh TV presenter Carol Vorderman shot to fame when she co-presented Countdown and since then has appeared on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, Strictly Come Dancing and often appears on ITV's morning show This Morning. She surprised This Morning's hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary and presenter Matthew Wright when she revealed a fact about her name on Friday, November 18.
Carol said she was named Carol after a Christmas carol as she was born on Christmas Eve in 1960. She said: "There is a specific reason... it is because I was born on Christmas Eve, Christmas Carol. So everybody says oh as your birthday is at Christmas we are going to buy you an extra big present - they never do. So it all sort of merges."
Surprised by Carol's name meaning Alison said: "I will never forget your birthday again Carol. Christmas Carol, Christmas Eve, that is so lovely!"
Carol was appearing on This Morning alongside Matthew Wright who revealed he was a total Grinch at Christmas and would be working over the Christmas period. He said: "I don't do Christmas at all. The wife hates me for it, especially now I'm a dad." while Carol responded that she was "well into Christmas".
Earlier in the show Carol discussed the latest budget news and she's not held back her opinion of the current government recently. She made a cheeky dig at serving MP Matt Hancock, the former health secretary, who is currently in the jungle in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!
In a video posted to her Instagram stories, Carol made a not-so-subtle jab at Matt's surname making it clear what she thought about the politician appearing on the show. Carol was on her way to the studio to appear on ITV 's This Morning to chat all things I'm A Celeb and on her way in the car joked about how to pronounce Matt's last name, saying that the "Han" was silent so his name is actually "Matt C***".
