This Morning viewers called out former professional rugby player James Haskell on Friday, for being "out of order" towards other show guests.
The former I'm A Celebrity star, and son-in-law to Richard Madeley, appeared on the ITV daytime series with fellow rugby star Mike Tindall.
They spoke to hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond about their podcast and going on tour.
But at the start of their interview, moments after two other guests appeared on the show to discuss a life-changing past event, the pair appeared to mock the earlier guests.
While both Mike and James made a comment about the previous segment, it was what James said about the incident they were discussing that left viewers disappointed.
Host Dermot did not know how to react and appeared to laugh it off, as it was put down to "rugby humour".
But viewers raced to Twitter to call out the moment, with one fan calling for it to be addressed on air.
Moments before the sport duo appeared on the show, a former drug dealer who turned his life around after shooting two police officers shared his incredible story.
Leroy Smith was joined by James Seymour, one of the men he shot, as he discussed his new book and how his hope to make amends led to them becoming friends.
He detailed the horrifying moment that they initially met, when Leroy shot James and another officer in an attempt to flee a police search.
After leaving prison, he was inspired to turn his life around and help prevent others from following a similar path.
This led to him meeting with James again later in life after his release, and the pair have remained friends since and now work together to help others.
Shortly after their interview, Mike and James appeared on the sofa and were making light of their own relationship as pals.
Asked why they started the podcast, James smugly quipped: "Well we're such good friends like Leroy and the policeman, best of friends."
As he laughed, Mike commented: "I've just been getting some tips off Leroy about how to maybe sort James out. Not so close."
It's then that James "went too far" and jibed: "Tindall wants to shoot me, and then wants to be forgiven."
Dermot looked uneasy about the moment, leading to James saying: "Sorry, I forgot we were on This Morning."
Viewers at home were stunned about the joke given the seriousness of the story, regarding the shooting and Leroy's hopes to help others.
Taking to Twitter, many called the comments "disgusting" and "out of order", as very few were amused by what was said.
One viewer said: "Did he just make a shooting joke??"
Another commented: "That joke fell flat," as a third fumed: "What a p***k taking the p**s out of the previous guests, james haskell is such a prat."
A fourth viewer wrote: "Oh dear. James Haskell and Mike Tindall totally making a mockery of the previous item with the guy that shot a policeman. Still, rugby banter is allowed yeah? FFS."
The same viewer later added: "I’m sorry, I’ve just watched it back again. F***ing disgusting. This needs addressing on air. Sort it out. #ThisMorning."
This was followed by another tweet that read: "Found James Haskell out of order making fun of the previous guests. What an idiot."
Another viewer messaged the guest directly, saying: "@jameshaskell great joke about the last guests. My sides were splitting from it...Muppet!"
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
