'This man' - Paul Scholes makes 'stubborn' Jurgen Klopp Liverpool point while praising Erik ten Hag

Paul Scholes believes Erik ten Hag has shown a side to his management style in recent weeks that Jurgen Klopp would never adapt.

United registered their fourth win on the bounce following a 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. In doing so, the Red Devils also put an end to the visitors' unbeaten start to the new campaign.

An opening goal from Antony on his debut gave Ten Hag's side the lead going into the break before Bukayo Saka restored parity. But a Marcus Rashford double secured United all three points.

And speaking to the Premier League productions post-match, Scholes explained why Ten Hag deserved praise for changing his tactics so early in the season.

The former United midfielder then went on to claim that neither Klopp or Man City boss Pep Guardiola would do the same as they are both 'stubborn'.

He said: “Now, why would you change and go back to something that didn’t really work at the start of the season? He’s found a way of playing football on the counter-attack with this group of players – why change that?”

Before he added: “We talk about philosophies all the time, don’t we? These managers are stubborn. Arteta will be stubborn, Guardiola will be stubborn, Jurgen Klopp will be stubborn.

“But this man – you have to give him credit because he’s gone away, really from what he wants to do.”
