The last two fights Marcel had were in September, his first after a year out, and in December and he emerged victorious in both.
Marcel, a former English champion at super flyweight, told the ECHO : "It’s time for me to put my full potential on display.
"This is what is going to change my life as I have to win this fight to achieve what I want.
"I’m looking forward to putting on a show for everyone.
"The atmosphere will be a rowdy one and I can't wait for it”.
Marcel added: "I started stepping up my training since the fight was announced on Jan 18 and studying my opponent, watching videos of him.
The ECHO asked Marcel about Allan.
Marcel said: "Everyone at this level is going to be good, they are there for a reason.
"I don't think too much of him and I give him the same respect I give every opponent."
Marcel, 27, began boxing aged 11 as a way to help with his behaviour as he was getting into fights at school.
After trying out various sports he found boxing was for him as it taught him to be disciplined, to channel aggression and his energy in a positive way.
He grew up watching videos, admiring characters and great boxers such as Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather, and Roy Jones Jnr.
But his greatest inspiration came from Mohammed Ali.
Preparing to get in his zone for the week before his fight Marcel said: "I’m in elite condition both physically and mentality.
"I have been using a nutritionist for the last four or five weeks.
"This has boosted me all round in performance and recovery and it's these small adjustments that make the difference at this level.
"In terms of my fitness I’m as ready as ever. As ready as I've ever been".
On his future he said: "To tell the truth, I’m not looking ahead, I’m just going to focus on beating him and beating him in style.
“I don't need to think too much about it. All I know is the future is bright after this."
His trainer, manager and also manager of the Golden Gloves Gym, Wayne Smith said: “Marcel's fitness is never in doubt.
"He’s naturally fit and only has to get off the couch and he’s fit.
“It's not his fitness I worry about, it's his mental state.
"Any boxer, the mind controls the body. What you tell yourself should work physically 99% of the time.
"The only thing that could beat Marcel, at this moment, is Marcel and that’s with no disrespect to Scott Allan.
Wayne added: "Sonny Edwards was IBF world champion, and Marcel gave him his toughest fight to date.
"He boxed Jay Harris, who was at the time British, Commonwealth and European champion and gave him hell.
"If he can mix with these types of people he’s already proved his level as he has boxed world champions”.
About Marcel’s future, Wayne said: "There is no looking ahead. There is nothing to look ahead at, everything goes on this.
"Boxing is not like football were you can stumble.
"As his manager I have plans but I can't look past February 26".
There’s a public workout on Wednesday February 23, at Grand Central Hall in the city centre and the doors open at 5pm for anyone to attend on a first come first served basis.
