This Is The Weirdest Modular Motorcycle Helmet I've Ever Seen. It Gives Mortal Kombat

The first thing I thought of when I saw Airoh's new J110 modular motorcycle helmet was, "Did Airoh steal Scorpion's helmet from Mortal Kombat?" Seriously, not only does the design of the J110 remind me of something out of the video game, but so does how it transforms itself into the half helmet, too.

I'm half surprised Airoh didn't do a livery collab with Capcom, and do one for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile. There are other ninjas in Mortal Kombat, but no one cares about those.

What am I talking about, you ask? Well, fine sirs and madams, Airoh's J110 modular helmet doesn't flip up like nearly every other modular motorcycle helmet. No, the front piece that goes over the rider's mouth and nose actually pops off, while the integrated shield goes up into the helmet like a normal modular. So yeah, you remove the face piece like those in Mortal Kombat or on an old-school Japanese Oni mask. And, honestly, it sorta slaps.

Airoh calls this new modular design its "transformation system," as it transforms from a regular full-faced helmet into a three-quarters design all by removing the face shield. Basically, as Airoh states, you get a 2-for-1 helmet, which is sorta the case with most other modular helmets. That said, you don't get to fully remove the face piece on others, so....

"With the J110, AIROH further strengthens its presence in the urban and touring segment with a 2-in-1 model designed to ensure versatile use and high safety standards," states Airoh, "This product was created as an urban jet helmet but it can be rapidly converted into a full-face helmet by fitting the supplied chin guard. This adaptability makes it suitable for a wide range of use, from daily commuting to scenic routes and extra-urban journeys."

Per Airoh, the J110 "Mortal Kombat" comes in two shell sizes, one for XS to M, and one for L to XXL. The shell is composite carbon, which is how all carbon is, and is both ECE 2206 and P/J Approval safety certified. It's also ready to accept Airoh's audio and Bluetooth systems for music and comms. Lastly, the sun visor has been smoked for better protection during sunny days. As for price, it isn't bad considering other motorcycle helmets these days. Airoh is asking €259.99, which translates to about $300, for the J110, though we're unsure if this helmet design will be making it to the States soon.

But that design, folks, come on. Or should I say, "GET OVER HERE!"
