Amy Wall received a heroes welcome on her return to Dublin Airport on Monday evening after making history for Ireland.
The Wicklow native became the country’s first-ever kickboxer to win a gold medal at the European Games.
Wall secured her place on top of the podium as she beat Norway’s Mariell Gaassan Straume in the 60kg Full Contact category.

Wall arrived back to Dublin Airport, where her friends and family waited to greet her, and she was delighted to bring gold back to her homeland.
"It hasn't really sunk in yet," Wall told the Mirror. "It feels amazing to put kickboxing on the map. This is the start for us.
"I knew (the final) would be a tough fight going in but I managed to stay composed and execute my game plan. I'm really happy with how it all went.
"I want to keep getting more fights, competing in tournaments and see where things go."
