Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has slammed the Glazers for failing to invest in Old Trafford after the stadium missed out as a venue for Euro 2028.
A joint bid by the UK and Ireland was submitted to UEFA on Wednesday and included the ten grounds that would host matches should the bid be successful. Among those making the cut were Manchester City's Etihad Stadium, Everton's new stadium, Aston Villa's Villa Park and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, the Theatre of Dreams did not make the list. Old Trafford had been shortlisted in November by the FA but due to redevelopment plans, it was agreed that there could be no guarantees that the stadium would be ready in time for the tournament in 2028.

Upon discovering Old Trafford's fate, Neville slammed United's owners for allowing the ground to become 'rusty'. He told the Daily Mail: "The Glazer family have, for years, been warned about a lack of investment in Old Trafford.
"They have overseen a decline for 20 years in which it has gone from being one of the best stadiums in the world to one that can't even get into the top 10 in the UK and Ireland. This is an all-time low.
"That it is not in the best ten to host a tournament is a joke. There has been no investment. It is a rusty stadium. This is a dereliction of duty. It is shameful."
MEN Sport understands that the Glazers are in favour of redeveloping Old Trafford rather than building a new stadium entirely. It is believed that plans to demolish the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand and add a third tier on the Stretford End and the Scoreboard End are being considered.
