THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state police chief has issued strict instructions to all district police chiefs to ensure tight security in the wake of the Bharat bandh called by a few organizations on Monday in protest against the Centre’s Agnipath scheme.
The police chief has warned against any kind of violence. Those involved in the destruction of public property or attacks against the people will have to face serious consequences. No one will be allowed to forcefully shut down shops and establishments. Those engaged in such acts will be arrested on the spot, directed the police chief.
The entire police force has been asked to be on alert on Monday. All district police chiefs have been asked to provide adequate security to courts, offices of KSEB, KSRTC, government offices and to central government offices.
Police picketing and patrolling will be ensured in all major centres from Sunday midnight itself. The police will also provide security for government and private buses operating on Monday.
All district police chiefs and range IGs have been asked to coordinate the security arrangements.
