Thirsty AI technology could strain Aussie water supply

Artificial intelligence technology could demand as much as 20 per cent of Sydney's water supply within a decade, and data centre developers are already asking for access to 40 million litres a day.

Australia's peak water industry organisation revealed the information in a report on Monday, which also called for regulation to ensure the sustainable development of future AI hubs.
