
A third man has been arrested and charged following a smash-and-grab robbery at a jewellers in Richmond.
Detectives from the Met’s Flying Squad arrested Deniz Mehmet, 28, on Wednesday, and he was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery on Thursday.
Mehmet will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on the morning of Friday April 10.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Mather, from the Met's Flying Squad, said: "Across the Met we are working hard to tackle retail crime, including robbery and shoplifting, as we know the significant impact these incidents have on shop workers and communities.
“We have carried out extensive enquiries into this incident over the past few months and have now charged three people."
Two men have previously been charged in connection with the robbery in Paved Court in Richmond, which occurred at around 10.30am on Saturday January 31.
Officers arrested Robert Clarke, 50, and Lee Ramsey, 46, on Tuesday March 31, and charged them with conspiracy to commit robbery.
They appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on April 1, and were remanded into custody. They are next due to appear at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday April 28.
