The Long Island plant that just pulled every deli salad and cream cheese it makes from New York City stores has now been tied to three separate Listeria findings in under a year, according to federal and state recall records. That repetition, rather than the size of any single recall, is what changes the story for the delis buying from the company and the households eating from those containers.
Made Fresh Salads Inc. of Bay Shore announced the newest recall on September 6, covering all of its ready-to-eat deli-style salads and all of its cream cheese products. The FDA recall notice listing every affected item covers 68 products under the Made Fresh Salads and Northside brands, 43 salads and prepared items plus 25 cream cheese and spread flavors, with expiration dates from September 3 through September 18, 2026 printed at the bottom left of the label. No illnesses have been reported. The products went by direct delivery to retail stores and distributors in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and elsewhere in the city.
