Spring appears to finally be on its way, with the weather improving and the grand stretch in the evening returning.
To welcome it, there's plenty of activities happening throughout Belfast city this weekend, from kids-friendly live music, to the Belfast Children's Festival.

Belfast Children's Festival with Young At Art, Various Locations, March 4th-13th
Children are often left out of festivals and other cultural events, but at Young at Art, children will enjoy theater, story telling, music and dance. The festival is held at various venues, including the Old Museum Arts Centre.
This is their first in-person festival in two years, meaning it'll be a welcome return for performers, audiences and children alike!

Chill out with a coffee and some music at Belfast's newest pop-up venue and home for all the great music that Belfast has to offer.

Brilliant Corners Jazz Festival, Various locations, March 4-6
Brilliant Corners Jazz Festival is back for their tenth edition, and they have a jam packed programme of concerts, talks, a house band, and an afterparty.
The festival combines local talent with international contemporaries, and Belfast audiences have really embraced it, with numbers growing year on year.
As always, the focus is on quality music, and they aim to deliver the most exciting programme of jazz each year.
This year they cast the net across Ireland, the UK and Europe with Witch 'n' Monk, Wildflower, David Lyttle Trio, Black Top, Potsa Lotsa, Aoife Doyle, RGB Trio, Jas and Chums, The Long Game, Adjunct! Ensemble, SlapBang, and Ishmael Ensemble all on the bill.

ArtsEkta, in association with Belfast City Council, presents a spectacular light festival to launch a fabulous programme of events along the Forth Meadow Community Greenway.
Come along to Springfield Dam & Park and experience a glowing cityscape of lantern sculptures floating on the water with live music, drumming, fire performances and food. Bring the family and enjoy this free event!
Cinemagic: Here We Are & Lost and Found, Ulster Museum, March 6th
The 4th Cinemagic ‘On the Pulse’ short film festival returns to live events and venues throughout Belfast in March 2022.
Here we are: notes for living on planet earth - A precocious 7-year-old who, over the course of Earth Day, learns about the wonders of the planet from his parents and from a mysterious exhibit at the aptly titled Museum of Everything. Based on the fabulous picture book by Oliver Jeffers.
Lost and Found - A magical tale of friendship and loneliness, which tells the story of a little boy who one day finds a penguin on his doorstep. Although at first he is unsure what to do, the boy becomes determined to help the penguin find his way back home... Even if that means rowing all the way to the South Pole! Based on the fabulous picture book by Oliver Jeffers.
Cinemagic tickets offer entry to the Cinemagic movie event plus general admission to the Ulster Museum.

Chamber Babies concerts are very informal events with short programmes that are designed for babies and adults alike. You can walk, sway, crawl, roll, dance or just chill out to a careful selection of short classical pieces designed both to engage and enchant (or soothe to sleep!). Concerts are aimed at babies from 0-18 months old.
