Things to do in London this weekend (February 18-20)

Happy birthday: Nobu celebrates its 25th anniversary this weekend

(Picture: Handout)

Any nice plans for the weekend? If the answer is a rather sheepish no, then worry not: we’ve got you covered.

Here’s our pick of what to do in the capital, from a Tuscan pop-up promising pasta aplenty to a Fleetwood Mac-themed club night.

Get romantic for (a belated) Valentine’s Day

February 14 fell on a Monday this year — surely the most unromantic of all days — so if you decided to defer the celebrations until the weekend, we can’t blame you. It might work in your favour, in fact, with bookings petering out after the Valentine’s Day rush earlier in week. If you want to really woo your other half, check out our guide to London’s best date restaurants.

Dance to the Mac all night long

Ever been on a night out and thought to yourself, “Hmm, nowhere near enough Fleetwood Mac being played here”? This disco at Troxy is for you, dedicated as it is to the legendary band, blaring out everything from the Mac’s best-known hits to those underappreciated deep cuts. Sure, you could Go Your Own Way, but we’d recommend heading here instead.

Feb 18, £26.50, 490 Commercial Road, E1 0HX, troxy.co.uk

Enjoy a taste of Tuscany on Park Lane

(Handout)

February weather in London can make a trip to Tuscany seem like a mightily attractive prospect, but if you don’t want to splash out on plane tickets, then you can bring the tastes of the region here instead. Michelin-starred chef Giovanni Luca di Pirro is helming this pop-up at COMO Metropolitan Park Lane, bringing dishes from the region’s La Taverna restaurant: expect homemade pasta, steak, cheese, pizza, wine and more.

Feb 17-26, 19 Old Park Lane, W1K 1LB, comohotels.com

Celebrate Nobu’s 25th birthday

(Handout)

It’s all going down on Old Park Lane this weekend. Nobu, Japanese-Peruvian restaurant brought to London by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, has been a mainstay on the capital’s dining scene since 1997. And now, to celebrate its half-century, the Old Park Lane restaurant will be serving up some of its best known dishes from over the years. On this weekend’s menu, there are bento boxes, sashimi, caviar and more.

Until Feb 20, 19 Old Park Lane, W1K 1LB, noburestaurants.com

Go large for the Six Nations

(Getty Images)

If you fancy a big ol’ blowout next weekend, get ahead and book now for this pop-up rugby experience in Twickenham, organised by M Restaurants. With free-flowing drinks, a three-course meal with a tomahawk steak as its main attraction, and the promise of a panel hosted by Simon Shaw and other “rugby legends” discussing all the action from England vs Wales, it’s set to be a big one. There’ll also be one for England vs Ireland, too. For something a little less expensive, check out our guide of the best places to watch the Six Nations in London.
