Things to do in Dublin this weekend: Trad festival, painting with pints and more

This weekend in Dublin is looking busy, with plenty of wholesome fun to be had as well as night-time antics to get up to.

From trad music in one of Dublin's most beautiful parks to an immersive exhibition at the RDS to a bit of boozy painting, there is a diverse range of events taking place in the capital this weekend.

Here are the eight best things to do in Dublin this weekend.

Paint by the pints at The Bernard Shaw

A painting masterclass with pints sounds like a bit of craic all the same and it's certainly different to what we normally get up to on the weekends.

Taking place this Sunday at 5pm, tickets cost €25 and includes two free pints of Guinness and there will be prizes on the night. Tickets are available here.

Feile Nasc

Dublin's first outdoor trad and folk festival, Feile Nasc, returns to Marlay Park this Saturday, May 21.

The one day festival will run from 1pm until 10pm with a packed line-up of folk and traditional musical artists, including much loved national treasures as well as local up and coming musical artists.

There will also be a large children's activity area featuring a forest camp, drumming workshop, karaoke as well as a selection of food and drink vendors.

Adele night at The Workman's Club

Adele is arguably one of the most successful singer-songwriters of a generation, Adele, will be honoured this Saturday at The Workman's Club as fans of the star sing along (and probably scream along) to her biggest heartbreak anthems.

Tickets are going for €8 and are available here.

Van Gogh: An Immersive Journey at the RDS

The Van Gogh show at Dublin's RDS is an incredibly immersive experience with visuals projected onto massive walls in a large open room as well as onto the very floor you sit on. That paired with booming surrounding sound effects makes for a truly magical experience, complimented by a trip to the infinity room after.

Tickets can be purchased here.

Pedalpalooza Dublin

Pedalpalooza Dublin is a free cycling event for all ages and abilities, taking place in Fairview Park on Sunday, May 22 between 12pm and 4pm.

There will be a wide range of activities on the day including a children’s cycle skills course, bike maintenance workshops, e-bike and cargo bike demos, information tents, music and more.

Liffey Valley Life Sessions

Liffey Valley Life Sessions is back this weekend at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre for a free line-up of talks and events covering everything from fashion and fitness trends to skincare and parenting tips.

Industry experts will take to the stage including celebrity stylist Corina Gaffey, renowned Irish hair stylist Dylan Bradshaw, make-up artist Aideen-Kate Murphy and Mummy Cooks expert Siobhan Barry.

There will also be a free yoga session. Full event details can be found here.

Outdoor painting with wine at Merrion Square Park

Not one but two boozy painting events are taking place in Dublin this weekend. Hosted by Alternative Dublin City this Saturday for National Drawing Day, enjoy a glass of wine, a painting masterclass and spot prizes in Dublin Merrion Square Park.

No experience is required and the event is completely friendly for beginners. Tickets can be purchased here.

Seafront yoga with free coffee in Clontarf

Yoga is an ultra relaxing activity and when it's done by the sea, well, that's just another element of zen added to the mix.

Taking place this Saturday at 9.30am, Bold & Brass Coffee is inviting locals to a beginner friendly yoga session at Clontarf's picturesque coast with free coffee afterwards.

Tickets can be bought here.
