Thieving neighbour stole cash from 87-year-old widow on day of her husband's funeral

A carer who stole from elderly widow's bank account on the day of her husband's funeral claimed she "snapped."

Margaret McPhail carried out a total of £11,800 of cash withdrawals on 87-year-old Agnes Fowler's account from her home in Cambuslang.

The 62-year-old - who cared for her neighbours - withdrew the cash between March 5, 2019 and January 21, 2020. She was snared after family members went through bank statements after Mrs Fowler's husband's death.
