Arsenal favourite Thierry Henry has been tipped to become the new USMNT head coach by Jamie Carragher.
Henry recently left his role as Roberto Martinez's assistant coach at Belgium after a disappointing Qatar World Cup campaign. The 45-year-old had two separate spells in charge with the Red Devils, with stints with AS Monaco and MLS outside Montreal Impact inbetween.
The former Gunners striker struggled to adapt to coaching in France and the USA, losing 11 of his 20 games with Monaco. In his return to the States in 2019, Henry led Montreal to their first playoff appearances in four season before stepping down due to travel restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic

Henry is now a shareholder of Italian side Como and an ever-stay figure on CBS Sports' UEFA Champions League coverage. Since departing his role with Belgium, Henry has been linked with a number of managerial vacancies.
One vacancy that is currently open is the USMNT manager's role. Gregg Berhalter ended his three year stint as head coach following the 2022 World Cup - where the USA reached the last-16. Berhalter's side impressed in the Middle East during the winter, keeping two clean sheets before being knocked out by the Netherlands.
Berhalter's former assistant coach Anthony Hudson is currently in interim charge, but a permanent option is set to be appointed in future. Speaking on CBS Sports, Carragher tipped Henry to take charge.
Asked by host Kate Abdo if they think USMNT will win the World Cup in their lifetime, the panel were quick to shut down the claim. Micah Richards insisted that the production of talent across the country is seeing them "getting better", whilst Carragher claimed there was no chance of world success coming to the United States of America.
Henry, who contributed to 94 goals in 135 games for New York Red Bulls, offered his opinion on the chances of a World Cup title for the USMNT. He said: "I'm going to say, if they get their act together, they can manage something."
Carragher then went on to say: "If they hire Thierry Henry, I might change my answer."
Henry has previously opened up on his stance regarding his future after being linked with the Bournemouth and Bordeaux job in the past. Asked by Carragher whether clubs had been put off by his short stints with Monaco and Montreal, he replied: “Yes, I would like to think so, maybe. I turned some down because I want to see it through with Belgium and not leave them on the way to the World Cup, because, you know, it’s a weird one to leave.
“But people sometimes think that ex-players are waiting for a glamorous place to go – I went to Montreal. Don’t get me wrong. I left there because I didn’t see my kids for a year and it started to get tough to come back. But I’m not like that. Whatever situation that comes my way, I’ll take it.”
