Premier League legend Thierry Henry has told Manchester United that they should prioritise a move for Tottenham talisman Harry Kane over in-form Napoli ace Victor Osimhen.
The Red Devils are on the prowl for a new striker in the summer to try and ease the goal-scoring burden on Marcus Rashford and a number of high-profile targets have been touted. However, the two names that continue to crop up are Kane and Osimhen, who are both currently enjoying stellar seasons with their respective clubs.
As things stand, Kane's league tally is a remarkable 20 goals in 27 games, while Osimhen has bagged 19 in 22 Serie A outings. Some fans and pundits alike have suggested United pursue the Nigeria international given his more attractive age profile, as Osimhen is five years younger than Kane.
However, Henry isn't so sure as he made clear while discussing the issue on CBS Sport on Wednesday night. The ex-Arsenal ace was asked by fellow pundit Jamie Carragher which team needs someone like Osimhen the most.
"I go back to someone like Chelsea, like United, Paris Saint-Germain would look for a number nine, there are so many teams where I am thinking 'where is there a nine missing?', we know Haaland is there, let's not talk about Kane and where he is going to go or maybe stay."
Carragher was quick to push back and openly asked Henry that if he were at the top of the United hierarchy would he try to sign Osimhen or Kane.

"Ah, personally you know what - because, sorry it's personal and sorry Napoli fans but we are talking about something that can happen or not, but again because of the Premier League and he knows the Premier League, I am United, I go Kane.
"That doesn't mean Osimhen isn't a good player or whatever, it has nothing to do with that, I think Osimhen can adapt in any league but if I am United I would look at 'okay, this guy [Kane] doesn't need to adapt to anything. He has a way of dropping that can allow Marcus Rashford to run in behind him when he drops, Kane can play anywhere also."
For all of Kane's positive traits, it has been reported that United are not willing to get into a transfer tug of war with Spurs over the England captain's signature.
Kane is entering the final year of his Spurs contract, which means this summer represents the north London-based outfit's last real chance to cash in on their prized asset.
