Thierry Henry gives glowing review of Arsenal and Man Utd target compared to Cristiano Ronaldo

Ex-Arsenal forward and icon Thierry Henry has given a glowing review of Gunners target Pedro Neto amid links with a move to the Emirates this summer. The forward has continually impressed for Wolves in the forward ranks, also being "offered" to Manchester United by agent Jorge Mendes.

It comes as Mikel Arteta looks to add further quality and depth to his squad before the end of the window, despite the fact five deals have already been completed. The Spaniard failed to rule out the possibility of further signings by the end of the month, claiming they will still remain "active" in the market.

Two areas could be in possible need of new faces, those being in central midfield or in the wide areas. The latter, at this stage, may seem most likely however, due to the need to move players on if the club are to bring new players in.

That's because club-record signing Nicolas Pepe looks set to leave Arsenal this summer on a loan switch to OGC Nice, if recent reports are to be believed. That exit could leave Arteta short across the front, especially on the right-wing where Bukayo Saka is the only starting option.

A failed bid for Raphinha earlier in the window suggests that reinforcement in that department is in the works, while football.london understands interest is still held in PSV winger Cody Gakpo. However, Wolves forward Neto is the latest to be linked with the switch.

The 22-year-old was likened to international team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo by compatriot Ruben Dias, which is some high praise for the youngster. Should the Gunners need any convincing of landing the Portuguese international, a former icon in Henry has given plenty of praise to Neto.

Discussing the forward on Sky Sports, he said: "I like him [Pedro Neto] a lot. Especially the situation that he found himself in with (Raul) Jimenez being injured and Diogo Jota now playing for the other side tonight.

“It’s not easy to have everything on your shoulders. What I like is he’s not scared to beat people on the outside. I like it, he can cross with his right, finish with his left.

“He’s always looking to have a go and attack the defender - always on the front foot. It’s not easy to do this at such a young age, in a team where you’re not often in possession and dominating games. I think he’s performed extremely well.”

It remains to be seen whether a deal is on the cards for Arsenal to land the 22-year-old, given the Midlands club's recent spending spree. However, they could be signing a real gem if they can beat Manchester United to land him.
