Thiago Silva's wife has called on the Chelsea fans to be more vocal during home games.
The Brazilian defender remains a key figure at Stamford Bridge, despite being 38, and his partner, Isabelle da Silva is known for airing her views on social media. She recorded a video of herself in the stands on Thursday night, where the majority of fans remained quiet, before she herself broke out into song.
She included the caption: "Don't come to Stamford Bridge if you're not singing!" Isabelle watched on as her husband's outfit were beaten by Manchester City. The champions secured a 1-0 win courtesy of Riyad Mahrez's second-half goal to close the gap on Arsenal.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have now won just one of their last eight games, which leaves them 10 points outside the top four as Graham Potter continues to search for answers. Despite Isabelle's claims the Blues boss praised the efforts of the home crowd as he called on them to be patient.
He said: "You have to take responsibility when we’re not playing well but at the same time you hope people look at the whole context in terms of what we’ve had to deal with. Emotions are high. We’ll try to ride out the storm and I think the crowd appreciated the performance and were behind the team tonight. Our supporters were fantastic and got behind the team in a great way."
The Chelsea boss added on the performance: "The lads gave everything, it was spirited and we had some opportunities against a top team. I liked what we tried to do against a top side. We were competitive and had spirit on the pitch, courage in attack and took responsibility at the back. Apart from the result, as we hate to lose, I’m proud of the players."
Isabelle has a reputation for calling it as she sees it. Earlier this season, following the 2-2 draw with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, she questioned why her husband has a lack of visibility at the stadium. She tweeted: "Today I went to Stamford Bridge, and I noticed that the photos changed around the stadium. But I don't see a photo of @tsilva3 anywhere. Why @ChelseaFC?"
Last term she also called out a commentator who criticised Silva's performance after a surprise 4-1 home defeat to Brentford. She's also been known to slam some of the Blues' former attackers, previously stating: "We need a goal, we need to win this match but my attackers don't want to score, I don't know why they don't score."
Timo Werner, who has since left the club, was among those to cop criticism from Isabele, but has revealed that Silva apologised directly to him.
