Thiago Silva reveals his Chelsea plans as defender outlines ambitions under Thomas Tuchel

Thiago Silva is determined to help motivate his Chelsea team-mates to triumph at next month's FIFA Club World Cup.

The Blues are looking to become world champions after their success in Europe last year, with the west Londoners set to fly out to the United Arab Emirates for their semi-final on February 9.

The match comes just four days after their FA Cup fourth round clash with Plymouth Argyle, but Thomas Tuchel may very well use that cup tie to rest a few of his key players before the long trip to UAE.

Silva is likely to be included in the travelling squad for the Club World Cup and the Brazil international has been speaking about how he hopes to add another trophy to his ever-growing cabinet.

"I thoroughly believe in these players and in this coaching staff. We all have big ambitions, and we all think about winning. We never play to lose, in fact, nobody plays to lose," the experienced Chelsea centre-back said in ESPN Brazil.

"Nobody likes to lose, but we have to understand that this is the Club World Cup. I am Brazilian myself, and I will always motivate our players for these games that separate us from winning another title.

"The fact that the players will have some time to rest, is obviously good for us as a club. If I am not mistaken, we'll have 10 days of vacation. We'll be back later with a calm mind, rested, where we'll still have a game for the FA Cup. Later that day, we will travel to Abu Dhabi.

"So you can be sure that Chelsea are going strong, and we're going to be prepared. I hope the team can be more successful than the last time they faced Corinthians. Let's hope this time is different."

Silva recently put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge after another impressive spell for Chelsea and the former Paris Saint-Germain defender has opened up on his ambitions in west London.

"It is special of course, it is the first time I am participating in it. So much so that I already lost the Libertadores final there in Brazil, so I did not have the opportunity to participate in the Club World Cup," he added.

"And like any other player, we are marked by titles. For the contribution we have to the team to win these titles. And I want to win, of course, I want my name to be more and more marked in this club.

"I am extremely happy here, and even more delighted to have renewed my contract with the club. And I hope that I can continue to give titles to this club."
