Chelsea star Thiago Silva has posted an update on his recovery from injury to social media as the star begins to ramp up his return to action. The Brazilian suffered a knock to the knee in last month's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham, resulting in an early walk down the tunnel in the London derby.
There were concerns for the 38-year-old, considering he was unlikely to leave the pitch unless the injury was a real problem. It was later revealed that Silva would be out for six-weeks in a huge blow to Graham Potter, who has been under severe pressure as Blues boss.
The difficult loss of Silva was underlined in the reaction of the head coach when the defender signed a new deal last month, saying: "[I am] delighted to hear the news of Thiago extending. Fantastic player, fantastic person, for us very important on the pitch, very important off the pitch."

A top four finish seems a long shot for the west London outfit this season, but victory in the Champions League is very possible, so there will be hope that Silva will be back in time for the clash with Real Madrid in mid-April. With that tie just a couple weeks away, the veteran defender posted an update on his Instagram.
The picture included the defender's left knee wearing a device that appears to be aiding his recovery, while the caption in Portuguese read: "Minha fisioterapeuta [my physiotherapist]," in reference to his wife Belle Silva being present in the background of the photo he has posted.
It remains to be seen whether the experienced centre-back will be able to make it back to action in time for the huge Champions League quarter-final ties ahead, but there will be hope that all the right steps are being made for that to become a reality.
