Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk is looking forward to experiencing the Elland Road atmosphere when they face Manchester United on Sunday.
The Whites are set to host their rivals from across the Pennines for the first time in the Premier League since 2003.
While excitement for the fixture is building, Leeds are in desperate need for some points following a disappointing last few weeks.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have picked up just one point from their last three matches, with two defeats coming against sides below them – Newcastle United and Everton.
But despite the recent poor form, Struijk is expecting a raucous atmosphere from the home support as Leeds look to exact revenge for their early season humiliation.
In an interview with BBC Radio Leeds, he said: “Yeah, and I think they'll be there to support us 110%. From the first whistle, even before, they'll be so loud supporting us and it's like a push in the back you get from the fans.
“For us and for them being there it's really important. Them giving us all the support is really good for us.”
For players who have brought in from abroad, they could perhaps be forgiven for not fully understanding the strong rivalry between the two sides.
However, Struijk believes he is now beginning to fully understand how much the fixture means to supporters and referenced boyhood Leeds fan Kalvin Phillips as someone who really feels the intense nature of the fixture.
He said: “I'm starting to get more used to it. Not as much as a local boy like Kalv, but I'm feeling what everyone's feeling. I just have the feeling that [we] really want to win, especially after those big defeats because that's what no-one wants.”
