Federal immigration agents in California have explored using facial recognition tools on TikTok profile photographs to identify undocumented migrants, according to internal communications disclosed in a recent court filing by civil rights advocates.
The disclosure follows a legal motion submitted by the American Civil Liberties Union, which introduced message exchanges between US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers stationed in Long Beach.
