Last year’s Thanksgiving looked differently for a lot of families.
Threatened by Covid many were unable to go home or visit their parents for the holiday festivities. Others withheld from celebrating the day altogether as they dealt with family in the hospital or other distressing circumstances. It was an undeniably hard situation for many. This year, however, things have gotten a bit better thanks to the vaccine rollout and cases have since noticeably decreased.
While we’re still not completely out of the woods just yet, many families were able to reunite this Thanksgiving for the first time in nearly two years, resulting in heartfelt emotional moments—with some even being a surprise. Luckily, some captured these reunions over TikTok, and we’d be lying if we said a tear didn’t escape our eyes while watching.
