As fall settles in, it's clear that the spooky season is in full swing. With nearly every homeware store and website brimming with Halloween decorations, it can be difficult to know where to begin your search for the best, most stylish buys.
This season, I've been tasked with trawling the internet for Halloween decorating ideas, and in doing so, I've spent hours reviewing the best retailers to shop for the very best Halloween decor.
So whether you’re shopping for scream-worthy statement pieces or stylish seasonal accents, these are the best stores to shop all things Halloween.
1. McGee & Co.
McGee & Co. is known for its sophisticated modern rustic styles, so it’s no surprise that it's embracing elevated Halloween. No garish orange pumpkins here: these seasonal pieces come in neutral tones which will blend seamlessly with most interior designs. This Halloween collection could be displayed year-round.
McGee & Co. effortlessly balances trendy designs – such as the gold metal bats garland, with hints of dark academia – this crow double taper holder is a festive spin on a classic design. Although some of the range is currently sold out (this one sells fast year on year), there’s still plenty to pick from, and it’s well worth checking in for restocks.
The Ghost Garland may be the bestseller, but I prefer McGee & Co.’s 72in Bats: sleek, sophisticated, and filled with the spirit of the season.
A stylish way to decorate shelves or put out food as part of your Halloween party decoration ideas, this bowl, McGee & Co. has hit the nail on the head (or skull) with this piece.
This taper holder is terrifyingly tasteful. A classical piece that’s right on trend, this candle holder embodies McGee & Co.’s balance between old and new.
2. Anthropologie
Anthropologie is offering over a hundred Halloween products, ranging from big, bold centerpieces to subtly seasonal accents. User-friendly filters will help you to sort by product type, price, and color, and you can even locate Anthropologie outlets near you with free pickup. If you like what you see, you can shop Anthropologie’s whole Halloween collection through their page. Tight on time? We’ve picked the best of Anthropologie’s Halloween collection from the range.
Truly awe-inspiring, these owl taper candles add a touch of Gothic glamour to adorn a mantel or as part of your Halloween table decor.
Featuring rich autumnal hues, this glass bud vase brings a touch of seasonal warmth and elegance to any mini floral arrangement.
Doubling up as a stylish pumpkin decoration and a fragrant candle with white birch and pumpkin aromas, this piece effortlessly combines seasonal style and scents into any space.
3. Target
With over 2,000 items listed under ‘indoor Halloween decorations’, Target’s indoor Halloween collection offers the widest range of any of our retailers. Luckily, there are plenty of specific search filters to help you sift. Target splits its 2,000 items into six categories, including wreaths and garlands, wall decor, decorative objects, throw pillows and blankets, pumpkins, and kitchen and dining. Target is known for its affordable and accessible decor, and this year’s offerings are no exception. Our three favorites, below, look good for less. If you want to see more, but don’t know where to start, we’ve already found our favorites from Target’s Halloween decor.
With dark colors and stripped-back twigs, this wreath design boasts an elegant approach to festive decor, making it one of the best Halloween decorations to buy this year.

Whether you're looking to decorate a mantel for Halloween or transform your stair rails, this garland is a standout choice. Its lifelike, blackened foliage offers a more refined, understated alternative to the typical bold Halloween garlands
4. Pottery Barn
We're big fans of Pottery Barn, because they bring stylish, good quality furniture and decor at mid-range prices. It's no surprise that there's a lot to love in the Pottery Barn Halloween collection. There are some really cute soft furnishings, as well as outdoor decor that will make for the perfect Halloween porch when the neighborhood comes trick-or-treating.
A fun way to inject some Halloween spirit into your kitchen and morning routine, these mugs add a playful, seasonal touch, and are perfect for serving up your favorite brew with a festive twist!
What better way to greet trick-or-treaters than with a thematic doormat? This bold design can be brought out year after year to set the spooky tone right from the doorstep.
An out-of-the-box idea, this spider plant stand offers a creative and unexpected way to decorate your front or backyard for Halloween while doubling as a functional plant holder.
5. Crate & Barrel
Crate & Barrel’s selection is on the smaller side, but the range is huge: there are decorative dish towels, cozy throws, and seasonal kitchenware, all crafted from natural organic materials. Crate & Barrel’s selection proves that you can elevate Halloween with monochrome minimalism.
A subtle take on the classic haunted house design, these are painted matte black with a soft copper interior to reflect the glow of a candle for a bewitching display.
Switch out your ordinary dish towels for the timeless designs of a Jack-o-Lantern, bat, and black cat. These cute complementary designs are kid-friendly, while still being suitably spooky.
I love subtle Halloween decorations, and this white ceramic pumpkin offers an elegant, modern twist on the classic pumpkin to bring a sophisticated seasonal touch to both indoor and outdoor displays.
These elevated collections prove that shopping Halloween isn’t all about ghouls and ghosts. Plenty of our Halloween picks are perfect for fall more generally, and could even be used year-round, such as Magnolia's garlands.
Let these ideas inspire some Halloween craft ideas to recreate some of our favorite retailers' designs. If you have magnolia blooms in your yard, why not try your hand at making a Halloween wreath?
