FUR and feathers were all the rage as Newcastle's first ever Pets Life Festival turned The Station into a paradise for animal lovers on Sunday.
Families flocked to the festival with dogs in tow to explore a huge range of pet and human market stalls, cuddle adorable farm animals at the petting zoo and learn more about animal care through live demonstrations and educational talks.
From snake safety demonstrations to family pet photo booths, the event delivered a packed day of entertainment for pets and their people alike.
Hunter Events Group marketing manager and coordinator Brooke Boxsell said she was amazed at the turnout despite the weather.
"If you look at the weather it's been pretty gloomy, so I'm super impressed. This is our first time holding this festival and we've had an amazing turnout, there's so many dogs everywhere you look," she said.
"We've also had our dog competitions, with everything from the cutest dog, best smile, best dressed, best trick and waggiest tail and we've got sweetest senior up next.
"This is just a really big, pet-friendly festival so we just want everyone who loves pets, loves animals to enjoy the day and it's an opportunity for all of these local animal rescues to showcase what they do."
The festival teamed up with local rescue organisations including Newcastle Dog Rescue, encouraging festival goers to donate food, toys and money to support vulnerable animals across the region.
A charity raffle was also held during the event, with all proceeds going directly towards the rescue groups' donation drive.
