Former Liverpool star Adam Lallana has given his views on his old club following the defeat to Real Madrid.
The Reds lost 5-2 to the La Liga giants in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at Anfield on Tuesday. It leaves Liverpool with a near-impossible task as they look to overcome a three-goal deficit in the second leg in the Spanish capital on March 15.
Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah had put the Reds 2-0 up within the first 15 minutes. However, a brace from Vinicius Jr and Karim Benzema, as well as a header from Eder Militao, sealed an emphatic victory for Madrid.

Lallana was commentating on the game for the BBC, and gave his opinion on Liverpool's current situation. The Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder left Anfield in 2020 after spending six years as a Liverpool player and believes that something has changed from the team he was once a part of.
“Inquests may be the wrong word but there would have been meetings around the form and what Liverpool needed was a big night tonight and they got the start to try and achieve that,” Lallana is quoted telling BBC 5Live.
“It is so not like the Liverpool of the past, there used to be no question they would see that game out.
“To concede five maybe shows where they are at this season.”
