Wordle has become a global phenomenon with the seemingly simple online word puzzle now dominating everyone's social media streams.
Every day people have six attempts to guess a five-letter word, they share their efforts on Twitter or Facebook.
The puzzle has been such a success it has been bought for a huge sum by the New York Times, and could soon disappear behind a paywall.
But there are dupes out there, similar versions of the game with a slight twist.
Among them is Lewdle, which works in exactly the same way - but all the words are rude.
Creator Adam Nickerson said: "In just nine days, Lewdle has over 1,000,000 players. I'm very disappointed in each and every one of you."
The game won't even accept a guess unless it is filthy, and when the answer is revealed it comes with a link to the definition for those who don't have a dirty mind.
The creators say on their site: "Lewdle is a game about rude words. If you're likely to be offended by the use of profanity, vulgarity or obscenity, go play Wordle instead!"
There are a number of other dupes out there - including Dordle. That version challenges you to solve two words at once.
It comes as there has been a huge increase in the number of people trying to cheat at Wordle over the past thirty days as searches for ‘5 letter words’ and related terms skyrocket.
New analysis from Content Performance and Digital PR agency NORTH found that:
Brits were Googling for inspiration at the end of January, with 2,750 searches for ‘5 letter words’ in the final week of January (23-29th) - a 20-fold increase on the weekly average search vol for the past 5 years.
The highest number of searches were performed on January 24th, when the word was ‘knoll’ - with more than 3 times as many Brits searching for ‘5 letter words’ on that date than the daily average for the month.
