With several weeks of summer still left to enjoy, make the most of the sunny days ahead by heading to a water park. It’s a great way to cool off on a hot day, challenge yourself with a new skill or just have fun with your friends.
Wild Shore Delamere is situated in the Cheshire countryside, 12 miles east of Chester, and just an hour’s drive from Manchester. This waterpark is based at a stunning lake and offers a range of activities for all abilities.
If you’ve never tried activities like stand up paddle boarding and wakeboarding before but always wanted to give them a go, then this park is for you. You don’t need to bring any specialist equipment or gear as everything you need is included in the price - you just need a swimming costume and a towel.

For adventurous types Wild Shore Delamere offers two obstacle courses on the water: Aqua Park and Aqua Chimp. Aqua Park is a huge inflatable playground which you have to climb, jump and slide across.
There’s even a 3.8m inflatable tower to overcome, but it does contain different features for various abilities so everyone is guaranteed to have a good time. It costs £19 per person for a 55 minute session, children need to be aged six and over.
Aqua Chimp is the park’s brand new rope assault course. As it's over the water you won’t need to wear a harness, giving you the freedom to explore the rope swings and zip lines. There are different runs for all abilities and it costs £19 for a 50 minute session, children need to be eight and over.
For thrill-seekers there’s wakeboarding, where you get pulled along by a cable while standing up on a board, similar to snowboarding but on water. A single lesson is £18, while a double lesson - perfect for beginners - costs £30.
Wild Shore Delamere also offers stand up paddle boarding (SUP), and you can even take an SUP tour around the lake during a guided session. Or, if you’re already experienced, you can book a hire and paddle session where you’re left to your own devices for up to two hours, from £20.
There’s open water and wild swimming sessions too, perfect if you’re training for an event or just want to exercise. If you’ve got your own paddle boards, kayaks or other paddle craft, you’re also welcome to use those on the lake, unsupervised, for £10.
