Then there were three: Aussie PGA hopefuls cut in half

Australia's PGA Championship challenge has been whittled down to three after heavyweights Min Woo Lee, Jason Day and Cameron Smith all missed the cut at Quail Hollow.

Cam Davis remains the best-placed Australian, joined by senior statesman Adam Scott, but the pair fell six shots behind halfway leader Jhonattan Vegas after a disappointing second round in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Davis's promising pursuit of the Wanamaker Trophy stalled as his first round of birdies gave way to bogeys in a three-over-par 74 on Friday (Saturday AEST).
