It’s amazing that The Young and the Restless’ Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is still in the dark about her husband’s latest business acquisition and new hires. She’s yet to discover that Victor (Eric Braeden) purchased Glissade, that he hired Audra (Zuleyka Silver) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) to run it and that Victor is gunning for Jack (Peter Bergman).
Considering how well Nikki knows her husband and how regularly she checks in with Jack, you’d think the Newman matriarch would be better in-tuned with what’s going on. However, she’s been relatively in the dark, really only knowing that Diane (Susan Walters) fired Kyle and that Victor is up to something.
With all that being said, Nikki is bound to find out all the juicy details of Victor’s revenge plot sooner rather than later, and when she does, you better believe she’ll be furious. She’s been crystal clear that Jack is her friend and that Victor should be grateful for Jack’s gutsy, yet foolish, efforts to save Nikki’s life that night in the Athletic Club room. However, Victor refuses to listen to reason and has dusted off all his tactical plans and tools of treachery as he’s reignited his feud against his longest-standing rival.
Nikki won’t like that Victor has inserted himself in the middle of the problems between Jack and his son. She’ll probably even blast him for trying to tear down the Abbott family legacy of Jabot when he has a daughter and grandchildren who are Abbotts themselves. Poor Summer (Allison Lanier) runs the entire Marchetti division at Jabot, and Victor hasn’t held back in trying to destroy the company.
As angry as Nikki probably will be, she’s known Victor long enough to understand that her expressing her frustration with Victor’s plan will do little to dissuade him. That’s why we think Nikki may take a drastic measure in trying to get Victor to stand down. Is it possible she threatens Victor with a divorce? If so, would she go through with it if he calls her bluff?
Given they just celebrated their love with a lavish anniversary party a few months ago, and we assumed their last trip down the aisle would be the final one for this legacy couple, we hope Victor listens and we don’t have to see the Newmans go through another contentious divorce.
But should a divorce be the card that’s played, Victor may find out his quest for revenge was just not worth his marriage. Not for nothing, Nikki would likely lean on Jack a lot in such a scenario, so it’s possible the longtime friends decide their friendship isn’t so platonic. You'll recall that Nikki and Jack were once married and were even expecting a child together. Victor may want to think long and hard about his future moves, because for a man who loves family, he may wind up losing it.
