The Xmas It-girls: Iris Law and Anaïs Gallagher party with Stella McCartney

While the city fizzed with work Christmas dinners on Tuesday (December 12) evening, the offspring of the great and good amassed in celebration of Stella McCartney at Selfridges

Toasting Stellabration — the designer’s bells-neon-lights-and-whistles takeover of the department store’s converted corner shop space — were the It girls who have taken ownership of 2023’s festive party circuit.

Iris Law (complete with two eyebrow slits) arrived in pinstriped balloon culottes and matching waistcoat from the designer, and was later joined by Anaïs Gallagher, daughter of Oasis’ Noel, who kept it cosy in a baggy printed jeans and a peach fuzz shade McCartney sweater, bang in line with Pantone’s newly announced 2024 colour of the year

A corseted Lady Mary Charteris put her best foot forward in McCartney’s cult cut-out jeans, while prize for most colourful went to Andrew Logan, the artist and longtime friend of the designer. He has designed a line a wearable art (all recycled glass) on sale at the pop-up.

Other highlights in the shop are collaborations with Veuve Clicquot — bags and shoes crafted from grape skins and corks — as well as uber-chic vegan chocs from Charbonnel et Walker.

In the window, the highlight: McCartney’s upside-down, all-baubles Christmas tree — not a far cry from Karl Lagerfeld’s legendary topsy-turvy Claridge’s Christmas tree which was the talk of the town in 2017. Get down to see it in the flesh before December 28.
