Alfred Schreuder was odds-on to be the next Leeds manager after being spotted at Elland Road on Sunday. The former Ajax boss was in West Yorkshire to watch the club’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester United and was later seen with club representatives.
It prompted bookies to install the 50-year-old as favourite to replace Jesse Marsch in the Leeds hotseat.
The potential appointment of Schreuder was met with a fierce backlash from Leeds supporters, however, concerned by his disappointing eight-month stay in Amsterdam and reports he lost the dressing room.

And that view has been reflected in a LeedsLive poll regarding Schreuder. Asked whether the former Club Brugge head coach was the right man for Leeds United, an overwhelming 91% of respondents said no.
Whether fans’ reservations were taken into account or not, it seems Leeds are looking elsewhere to fill the role, with reports claiming Schreuder ‘is no longer under consideration’.
Former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has now emerged as the new favourite, with Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola still firmly in the running.
