The Witcher 4 probably won’t get any expansions as CDPR aims to complete the trilogy within six years

Ever since The Witcher 3, CDPR has become known for its incredible old-fashioned expansion packs that connect directly to its main games while providing players with amazing standalone stories. So far, the company has released three: Blood and Wine, Hearts of Stone (for TW3), and Phantom Liberty for Cyberpunk 2077.

Next year, as we wrote previously, The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past is also set to release, though we don’t know the full details yet. But even though the company set a precedent with its releases so far, it probably won’t continue the practice in case of The Witcher 4, as it aims to expedite development on its new trilogy and have it complete within six years.

As GamesRadar writes, one of CDPR’s chief executives, Michał Nowakowski, commented on the potential of new expansions in the new Witcher trilogy, saying it would be “difficult” to both push the games out and also work on separate expansion packs.
