Travel website Tripadvisor has released its fastest-growing popular destinations and recommendations for summer holidays for 2023 and a gorgeous Welsh town has come out third. Llangollen in Denbighshire has been named the third fastest growing location as many visitors have been loving their stay.
Nestled on the River Dee, Llangollen is home to great independent shops and a variety of accommodations to stay in from camping to cottages. There is plenty to do in Llangollen including Victoria Promenade, Riverside Park and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is not far away. The Welsh town came in third place behind Isle of Wight destinations Bembridge and Ventnor.

During each themed day, the festival field is a hive of activity with main stage competitions, outside stage performances, workshops, and impromptu singing and dancing from every corner of the world, in national and regional costumes. There is also the Parade of Nations throughout the town.
One person left a five-star review of Llangollen calling it a "beautiful, charming town". They said: "Llangollen is nestled in the valleys of Wales, and looks like it stepped out of a fairy tale. The hills and valleys are deep, lush green, and the landscape is stunning. If you have the chance, climb the mountain in the town to the old ruins- the view is breathtaking...Overall, Llangollen is wonderful, and is a great place to take a small vacation! We had a great time and cannot wait to return!"
Another called Llangollen "a jewel of a town". They said: "If you are looking for a nice small town on a nice small river (or is it a stream, or a brook, or a beck, or a burn...?), Llangollen is the place. My wife and I stayed there on our honeymoon and used it as a base from which to explore the surrounding area."
